Holder also reveals that IBM is leading blockchain technology tests with Walmart and eight other companies that began in 2017. Two tests utilizing Walmart have already shown success with digital tracking of perishable items. Other companies are becoming engaged to begin testing different parts of the blockchain capabilities. At this point in time, everything is in the testing mode. There is quite a lot more to be tested and reviewed before the blockchain theory will open up new highways of information for the trucking industry, but the idea is definitely promising.
