Sleeper trucks are designed to provide drivers with comfortable lodgings on long trips spent away from home. However, while the cab’s bedding may be nice, a sleeper truck’s other amenities can sometimes be lacking, and leave drivers longing for the comforts of home. Thankfully, we’ve listed a few accessories below to help improve your next overnight trip in your sleeper truck and ensure you wake up rested, relaxed, and ready to go the next day.

Window Covers

If you don’t already have a set of window covers for your sleep truck, we recommend investing in a set asap. While they may seem like an unimportant item to have, you’ll find that a good set of window covers will significantly improve your sleep while staying in your truck as well as offer you better privacy and safety while you’re parked for the night.

Food Prep & Storage

Keeping yourself fed is one of the toughest parts of cross-country travel. Constantly stopping for food is not only time-consuming but expensive, and gas stations and truck stops tend to offer very little in terms of healthy food options. That’s why we recommend investing in some food storage and prep accessories for your sleeper truck. While you’re welcome to keep it simple and purchase a cooler to keep in your truck, we recommend upgrading to a microwave and minifridge if possible. To save space we recommend purchasing one of the models that combines the microwave and minifridge into one convenient unit.

Entertainment

If you’re spending days in your sleeper truck, a radio alone isn’t going to keep you entertained for very long. Before you hit the road, make sure that your sleeper truck has a few different entertainment options for you to take advantage of. Audiobooks, podcasts, and online music subscriptions are a great way to keep yourself entertained while driving. However, you may want to invest in a TV, portable DVD player, or even a small gaming system to keep yourself entertained in your downtime.
